‘Sleep Inside A Chrysalis'
No one noticed that I was flying
In the face of every danger to a fragile mind
And no one noticed that I was trying
In wild-eyed desperation to get out…get out…
Now they're confused as to where I've gone to
Despite the obvious staring them in the face
Maybe it's merely because they don't want to
Accept such naked truth at such point blank range…
Now, I sleep inside a chrysalis
But I won't always be like this…
And, though I won't always be like this,
There will be nothing much to miss
Unless you want something to miss
In which case, I can give you something to miss
Yeah, I can give you something to miss!
No one noticed that I was crying -
No one put their arm around me and said: “it's gonna be alright”
And no one noticed that I was dying
Though my grave had been dug and waiting for decades - decades!
Well, since I removed myself from the equation
They assume some existence of hedonistic shame
I only wish I had their imagination…
But then, compared to the alternative, hell yeah, give me trashy fame!
Now, I sleep inside a chrysalis
But I won't always be like this…
And, though I won't always be like this,
There will be nothing much to miss
Unless you want something to miss
In which case, I can give you something to miss
Yeah, I can give you something to miss!
