‘Every Bone Aches'

My carcass has been dragged along the ground,
Yanked across rocks and boulders
And been punched and kicked around
And every shattered nerve shakes
But I remain hidebound

This pitiful shell has been lost and found,
Forsaken and then dredged up
To once again be slapped down
And every battered bone aches
But I'm ready for the next round.
